9.6v RC battery pack!!!

Yo i can't afford a Sony Lithium battery, so could I use a Rc battery pack that has 9.6volts?

I suggest you use a 7.2 volt battery instead. That's what I'am using and it works great.

Yeah game freak is right, It is a 9.6v battery repair kit but it still is the same size as a 7.2v battery jack and will still run it through.

(Trust me, I was slightly bamboozalled at this as well)

Well i would suggest a 7.2 volt (6 sub C cell) like these NIMH 3000ma batteries at the bottom.
You can either get NICD or NIMH. Nicd's are faster to charge "15 min" but you have to completely discharge and fully charge them each time or they will build up a memory and wont fully charge or discharge the next time you try. They are cheaper but wont hold as much amperage. The average is about 1500-2000ma per nicd pack. The NIMH doesnt have a memory but they cant be charged very fast because it will heat them up and you cant get a nimh very hot or it will be pissed and explode or just damage the battery. You use a overnight charger with them. They do hold more amperage but at a price, they tend to be more expensive.

NICD: 7.2V Stick pack at 1500ma will cost around 10-15 bucks
NIMH: 7.2V Stick pack at 3000ma will cost around 20 bucks

-If you have any questions, then go to your local hobby shop "one that sells the expensive remote control cars" and ask about their stick pack batteries.

Yeah, mine is a 7.2 ni-cd. 2000ma. It lasts about 2 hours with a un-modded psone screen. It might last over three hours with an led modded psone screen.
