Thanks,
I think it's less than 10 hours (cutting plastic card and paddle and glue them together+dismantling of the screen).

Looks nice. Have you got details of the screen, screen size, pics of the screen motherboard, etc?

What's the quality of the screen like? Is it RGB and/or composite?

The quality is poor but it's enought for this project. I think rgb is available (marks "R/G/B" are on the mobo) and composite is available too.

Bacteria, can you tell me how is the thickness of your psone portable?

Sure, mine is 60mm thick, including the 2mm thick backing plate; ignoring the joystick caps sticking out of the system!

That was 21mm for the screen controls, perspex top; 37mm for the console board, batteries and the thick CD drive (about 21mm thick in itself). The CD holder surround from the PSone case took about 6mm as I recall, as the CD is concealed inside the portable.

I am awaiting a PSP joystick from e-bay as I plan to make an N64 portable so small that the controls need to be on the side of the system as there will be no space on the front for any buttons at all; I know the PSP joystick isn't rated greatly, but I want to see if it is good enough. Also, if the joystick is good enough, I may remake my PSone portable with them and cram everything in still tighter (will mean relocating components from the PSone console board too) and aiming to make the system about 20% slimmer, if that's possible.

Thank you for the information, I may reduce the thickness of the console after all elements are in place, I see.
I also thought about the psp joystick but I find it not very pleasant to use.

I cut the unnecessary parts of the mobo of the screen.

Hi , Good work , but you say the screen is composite too , but I have the same screen and I don't find where I must wire the composite ...

In French ,Cause I'm from france such as darthchris13...

Perhaps it doesn't have composite - the Logic 3 screen I have is only RGB.

Never mind, you can't help that.

Being from France would make you French normally...
