Post by banditpaw1 »

I have a retro duo and the snes side doesn't work. the nes side works fine. i Used basic knowledge and used a multimeter on the wires connecting the two boards and add wires to where they disconnected to no avail. Anyone know whats up?

Hey thanks for all the help you guy didnt do squat! Joking. It turned out to need more amps.
Well on other note the nes side only need 3 volts to run ( I tested with 2 AA's)

I am having the same problem with my retro duo. I've had it for about a month now, and everything performed flawlessly, but suddenly the snes deck would no longer play. When a cartridge is inserted and the 16bit power toggled on, I just get some interference lines across the screen, but can still see my aux channel (blue background that says no usable signal). Also like you, my nes deck continues to function.

Another strange thing is that if I turn 16bit power on and leave it, after like 45 seconds I will hear, and hear only, the game cart boot (for instance on Donkey Kong Country, you will hear the music that plays as Rare (the developer) title appears, but it will then stop and never go to the main intro (where the DK theme begins). What could be causing this?

You say yours needed more power? Can you elaborate at all on what you had to do / what I may need to do in order to get back up and running? Thanks.

PS

All game carts tried work (attempted to load over 40), and I am sure it is a problem with the RD console.

well 3 problems i ha were...
1. The cheap wires connecting the boards severed(trace with multimeter and solder any disconected points)
2. Not enough volt/amps(get a wallwart with 5-6v and 350mah)
3.cart is to loose in the slot this sounds like your problem (just wege somthing between the cart anthe slot. Make it tight but not to tight just so the cart can't "jiggle around")
