I have a few pics from the interenet, and can fill in the blanks based on the pin-functions of the components.

I was going to be lazy and design around whatever address latch and descrete IC's on I can find on hand since the software interface is well documented and I don't have a pile of Sega mapper chips on hand. But since I don't seem to have my GG any more I will let you decide which approach to take.

also; the SMSpower forum thinks I am a spam bot.

Ok Sounds good.

I'll be looking into this later this month once I get my hands around this Altera VHDL language.
I might have a better idea at that point on how to attack implementing a custom Mapper.

That's really bizarre regarding SMSpower? I'll send MAXIM the site admin a MSG regarding that.
Weird...:-)

Talk to you later

Well, I did the initial traces of the 1990 171-5986B 1M/256K ROM +RAM board last night;
I'll get around to porting it into Eagle or KiCad in a couple of weeks.

Snow_Cat! THAT IS AMAZING WORK!!

This is a lot of work you've done here. Very awesome.

Do you think you'll be able to actually figure out the traces for the uncovered sections of the PCB?
That would be awesome.

I guess the use of the Discrete IC on this RETAIL Eprom cart, is being used for chip selection between the two 512KB ROM chips.
Do you think that is the case here?

Sort of the same way NES carts where the CHR and ROM chips share the Address or data bus.

That would be really cool if that works.

Great work! :)

Gerry_MAN, your project is very interesting, but its only usefull for Game Gear because GBA already has an adaptor which allow user to use microSD cards instead of flash cartridges for storing games.
P.S. I'm has an idea-lets try to make homemade microSD adaptor for Game Gear! :)

Hi Kiruha2012,

Actually they already made an SD based GG Flash cart.

My project is just for fun, to build something for electronics Hobbyists. :)
If you like to fiddle with electronics then my Projects are perfect, but you can always just go and buy one for around $75 - $120 Dollars.

So in short:

Go to my site to build them:
http://www.digital-circuitry.com/

Go to these sites to buy them:
http://www.tototek.com/store/index.php or http://krikzz.com/

Either way....we win !! :)
FUN stuff!!

Regards,
-Gerry
