With a lot of black magic, this guy calc84maniac managed to pull off this amazing feat... A Gameboy emulator for some of the Z80 based TI-8x calculators. (TI-83+SE, TI-84+, and TI-84+SE to be precise)
It's slow and glitchy, but some games are actually playable, and it even has sound!

Read all about it: http://gameboydev.org/2009/06/ti-boy-se ... lculators/

I know there was one for some of Ti's higher end calcs (Voyager 200, etc), but this?!

... Awesome.

Boring answer, but because it doesn't have enough RAM.

Well, it's nice that it can run on my 84+...
And in fact, it does surprisingly well with the handful of homebrew demos (including my own) that I tried.

I just wish my calc had the dang storage to support a real game!

You can hook up USB drives to the 84+. I think you just need a driver and an adapter.

Even if it does, it won't help the emulator... Since a USB stick is a secondary storage from TI-84's point of view, the access time would be horrible.
