Basically, it's a miniPC running MAME, crammed into a homemade control panel.
The actual controls consists of one 8-way sticks and 7 buttons. There's also 4 USB ports. Three of them are for additional players.
The nature of the fourth one is not as simple. Basically, one can switch between the on-board controls or another control scheme (or device). Besides being compatible with XBCD (an Xbox-to-USB driver), it can also be used for extra devices. These devices include:
* LCD Topgun lightgun for shooters
* Trackball module
* Tron module
* Flight module
* Racing wheel
* Keyboard/mouse, for upgrading, gaming, etc.
Besides MAME, I also wanna run ZiNc, Kawaks (or a better CPS1/2 and NeoGeo emu), Daphne (possibly), and possibly others.
Besides arcade, I also wish to add:
* non-arcade emulators, such as Gens, ZSNES, Atari, etc.
* DOSbox with games Duke Nukem, Commander Keen, etc.
* FPS games like Doom Trilogy, Hexen, Heretic, etc.
* other games that can run at 640x480
Granted the most I've ever done is an Xbox-to-USB adapter.
As for the display, it will work with most televisions and computer monitors.
And the reason I wish to use a miniPC is because I heard that they are really small and lightweight. I wanted to use a laptop, but I heard that they have a tendency to overheat and I don't wanna use a real PC because the power supply is way too heavy and I don't want it to weigh too much.
Idea for a "portable" cabinet
