That's right, I spelled it with a K! lol.
But seriously, I finally got a camera, so I can take some pics of my work as I make my portable!
A view of a horribly messy work space...rest assured, it's clean now
A shot of everything hooked up to the batteries. It's still messy, I know...
A close up of my LED-modded screen. Mr. Hot glue is most prevalent
A shot of it running good ol' Megaman 3 (love that intro theme)
Here's a nice top-down pic of what I'm gonna make the case look like.
as of right now, all I have left to do on the guts is to: 1.) Remove the 72-pin cart connector & 2.) get the controller hooked directly to the board.
After that, it's onto the horrors of case construction. My plan for the case is gonna be difficult....but it'll look darn good when I'm done. I'll keep y'all posted

Nice work station you have there. Project looks like it's on the right track. Make sure to keep us updated. If there is one thing Benheckers like more than building portables, it's looking at other people build them .
Also, jealous of the scope. I *almost* bought one when I was doing a lot of video mods, but it's the last "big" tool I never bought .

Yes, it is indeed enjoyable to watch, as well as create your own
As far as those caps go...They actually came out of an old airplane, as I too enjoy salvaging! You'd be surprised what you'd find when you go junkin'! But a coil gun gun? That sounds freaken sweet! Sounds like a good idea for a project after the cNESp!

A minor update for the project. Just lopped a small chunk of the top off there, nothing too fancy. Case construction is going to begin shortly.
I wish I had more time do dedicate to the project...darn work anyway.

Yeah, I was thinking about taking the whole top, but I decided to leave that small bit, as the way I'm making the case allows me to use that small area to help hold the screen in place

FRESH UPDATE-SAUCE!!!!!
Case construction hath begunth!
And now we take a dive into my garage....
A nice shot of my garage stereo
A man's gotta have his tunes! \m/
My tool of destruction (not talking about the car......yet.....)
My work area, before the mess set in.
The posterboard test sheets, and my notepad
Plastic sheet with the first 2 case parts removed, you can see the penciled markings for what will become the back plate.
A shot of the front & middle plates clamped for sanding.
A shot of the back plate after cutting it out.
Gonna be using a lot of this right shortly....strong stuff!
There'll be more stuff tomarrow!
