Search Engine

A new or improved search engine for the forums. One that does not require us to use google to search for specific topics instead of words or segments.

We could always add a "Google Custom Search" box to the main header or something like that. As far as searches go, Google gets the most relevant results.

I've seen some forums with a Google search box inside the search page, but I really doubt you can get any better than Google. :P

I really wouldn't mind google, just something that does not require to leave the forums. I mean its easier to go to google.com straight and search there than it is to use our search engine to look for a specific topic.

I second the vote for a revamped search function. As of right now, it's unacceptable!

Especially that you can't find phpbb2 forum posts with it.
Great information lies in those old posts. So many already answered posts could be made irrelevant with a new search engine.

So bic - how do we go about doing that? Is it something that could be added today-ish? Please!?

Just need to add the Google custom search box to the overall_header.html file, but that requires FTP access so either Sponge or Ben has to do it.
