Back with a little project I did the other day.
Electronically Automatic Opening Tool Drawers! Otherwise known as cash drawers! I received some old worn out cash drawers from a bookstore I used to work for and decided to put them to good use. They operate by supplying 17Vs (YES 17V !?) to the solenoid that's inside the drawer. Well I didn't have a 17V powersupply so I ripped apart a receipt printer that powers it. Bingo a Transformer that supplies 17VAC. One Bridge rectifier later and I have a 17V DC tho cause of peak voltage it is a bit higher but it shouldn't matter to much. Coupled with two switches and a project box we have a powersupply for these drawers.
And a youtube link.

Yeah I have that system all set up in my room. I just use my brain to tell my hand to grasp the handle or the sides of the drawer and pull out on it, causing it to slide out along the rollers underneath. It's actually quite amazing and I got it all set up for really cheap!Arrow--> wrote:now can you get one to open with your mind? that is the question

Replace the bell with one of those 30 second voice recorders loaded with the audience yelling "Tool Time!" form Home Improvement. (Bonus points if the bottom says "Tool Time!" and the top is Heidi saying "Does everybody know what time it is?")
