Am I the only one who feels that it should use a rechargeable cell that is recharged via a spinning magnet on a fan in the bottom where he said the batteries were currently located. Just think about it a minute....you would recharge the thing by blowing in to it. Classic I know.

I mean this is the best one I've seen, so maybe I'm shooting for the stars but if there is no way of selling one of these, does anyone on this forum have a cool portable mod that they recreate and sell? Or is it all for the hobby?
Sometimes people put portables up for sale, ShockSlayer I think still has an n64p for sale if you want to contact him.

These projects are done for the love of the hobby, so people only sell them if they no longer want them (made a better one?) normally. You can make your own system easily enough, if you read our forum in the relevant sections, research and build.

first off, DiscoSnorlax, that is an awesome idea, it looks sweet!!!

ok, a lot of people have asked about instructions on how to make this so here is a picture of the innards.

Image

as you can see, i rigged up some tac switches into the right formations so i
can use the pads from a nes remote, then connected them to a ground i
found and then to the appropriate contact points for each button. on the
bottom are the n batteries, snuggly next the start and select tacts. the
innards are fairly crude looking but it works. the rom cartridge can be
seen on the top half of the cartridge, had to move the crystal over.
although u cant see them, there are about five capacitors on the other
side i also had to move to make a slimmer profile. as for the screen, it
was just a matter of getting as much of the ribbon out so i could move
it to the correct spot. theres some hot glue on the cover to hold the lcd in
place, and some more here and there to hold things.hot glue is wonderful
isnt it? i have some left over room in there but thats ok. i already have an
idea for my next project and i can say that it will stay true to the
original NES concept

Wow! I think we all (or most of us anyways) have thought of or planned on making pNES inside a NES cart. Im glad someone finally did it. Great job!

What type of screen are you using?

Wow. OK, hold on. I just HAD TO register to ask you about this!

First of all, that thing's awesome. Stellar job, Sir. Second, which OneStation did you use? I went HERE, and they have a few different ones. (I figure it's the Kensington OS Elite model.)

Also, did you include the speaker?

It has 99 games on a seperate cartidge just like this, and looks like the smallest.

that has to be the stupidest thing i have ever seen. he just ruined a perfectly good handheld, and also a rare and expensive handheld, and made it bigger and bulkier.

all he did was wire in a D-pad and buttons. that takes no skill at all. why not use a "Power player" joystick? there are a million of them out there, at least that would have been somewhat impressive.

whats the point of having it in a nes cartridge anyway, besides cheating your way into internet fame. that basic idea has been done to death.

he just made something EVEN LESS PORTABLE than it was. he diden't really accomplish anything.

Wow, you're a real f***ing killjoy, aren't you? As for the onestations being "rare and expensive handhelds", what planet are you from? You can get one for under $40 on dealextreme.com. Frankly, I find those things to be a pain to hold, and I'm glad to see someone make one more comfortable to hold.

As for wiring in a d-pad and buttons, yes, it is a fairly simple soldering task, however there are a great many people who couldn't do it. It's his mod, he can use whatever damned buttons he wants. It's a nice touch to use the original system.

Like I already said, the NES cart's a lot more comfortable to hold than the original onestation. For the most part, people don't do these for the fame, they do them because they want to. Frankly, I am sick to death of seeing little naysaying f***s like you troll your way on to a MODDING forum just to bash what someone did for their own pleasure. Pi$$ off, and take your $#itty attitude with you, you f***ing loser.

P.S.: Sorry to the regulars for my lack of civility there, I am just so sick of seeing trolls bash stuff they can't be bothered to do, whether they're capable or not.
