Hello, all. I'm toying with the idea of making customized Bioshock art for my upcoming 360 laptop combining painting, stencils/stamping, and engraving plastic for the images (possibly even working in some LEDs to backlight artwork of a bouncer helmet

). I sent an email with a similar question I'm about to ask here to a local business that would be doing the engraving for me but they had no idea, which was strange for a business not to have an answer about this since they make signs and trophies...
If I wanted to detail my finished working product with paint, would engraving plastic be very receptive of paint?
Regardless of whether it is or isn't receptive of paint, what kind of paint should I use and what could I use to clear-coat either the painted section or all of the plastic to protect it from the dangers of the world (something that ISN'T another sheet of clear plastic)?
Thanks,
Tony
