um... I would assume that most of the people on this board are not you and are also not psychic, so they wouldn't know what kind of design you're looking for. Even if they were, what incentive do they have to spend the time designing a case for you. I would suggest taking the time to design your own case, and if you need help with something specific, then I'm sure someone will help you

You're not going to get someone to make you a case design, especially when you're vague about what you want and you offer nothing in return.

As for using a DS screen, forget it. It won't work. (See the sticky for an explanation.) Buy a real screen.

Post by koopa44 » Fri Jun 01, 2007 12:45 pm

ok i get your point. its just that the dang keyboard wont take the current design. and that is the only design the motherboard can handle(without being
to thick or crushing the floppy disk drive). and the ps2 standard is not compatible... bah. i can program that stamp to help with my problem...

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! my stamp fried!!!!!

It sounds like you know more about what type of case you need then any of us so why can't you DIY (do it yourself). If you do want us (people on the forums) to help, at least give us a more specific description of your problem.

Has anyone actually managed to build an A600 laptop? (never mind the aesthetics) I suppose that as far as screen goes probably it would be the easiest solution to use one of those 7 - 12 inch LCD tvs with a composite video in.
Other than that, the next problem lies with power, which i can't really tell what would be adequate for the job, and perhaps an FC to IDE interface instead of a hard disk with at least 1 - 2 GB capacity. Also, unless the keyboard is appropriate for the job, possibly an Amiga to PC keyboard interface (in case you can find the pinout of a laptop keyboard) and a touch pad such as the Glidepoint (a serial port pad built for PCs in the past but sold with Amiga drivers sometime)
If anyone has figured out the power department, let the rest of us know...

I know it's been a long time, and i should have posted a lot earlier, but it's never too late i guess... :-)
Has anyone managed to build that Amiga laptop you were all talking about? I have seen the minimig construction on a similar thread, awesome! Looking very good!
Anyway, if anyone still cares to make an attempt, here's the results of mine, finished last year.
http://www.amigahellas.gr/modules/newbb ... =0&start=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It's an A600 with a Viper 630@42Mhz, 4MB fast ram, clockport i/f, Subway USB, PC keyboard i/f, PS2 touchpad, pcmcia ethernet card, 1GB SD card (as hard disk) on IDE, 12,1" LCD monitor.
I know it's all Greek to you, but surely pics are worthy thousands of words, eh? I believe i have covered every step in pics.. Hope everyone has the same luck i had building one... :D
And here's a "teaser" final result pic

It might help reduce the volume of stuff you need to bring to MGC.

Oh who am I kidding. You'd just add the Amiga laptop to the carful of Amiga stuffs you brought last year.

Fight MS Paint abominations! If you don't have a camera, go here, and pick something 3 megapixels or higher.
