Re: Portable Nintendo 64 Rumble (PN64R)
Firstly I would like to know if there needs to be some components between N64's AV output and PSOne's AV input? Well done so far. PAL N64's have a capacitor on the video line in the AV cable. NTSC does not. My recent portables worked fine when connected directly to the screen, But the first Sixtyfr...

This would be a little simplier http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/3615/volumemj0fp2.jpg Ill draw the truth tables to make sure this would give the same result but I am 100% sure it does. Great editing skills, but the problem with that circuit is that the NAND will output high unless BOTH inputs ar...

PLEASE - make a topic in the screens forum with lots of details of what you did to reduce the PSone screen mobo I may at some point write a how-to for the screen and mobo size reduction. Regretfully, I'm too busy at the moment. However, for the time being, here is the pinout that I used for the PAL...

SifuF - The dpad wouldn't always control that because the psone screen gnd is disconnected from the n64 controller's gnd in my diagram. When the start button is pressed, the 2 gnds are joined and thus the dpad will control the psone screen. Normally, Its just the Start button lead and the psone scr...

This is because the gr...

Do you plan on selling cut down n64 mobos to other members? I would love to but have very little time at the moment. Possibly in the future. Is that wire wrap wire? Also, what are the two extra chips on the N64 motherboard? Yes it's wire wrap or kynar wire. The two chips are just logic gates for th...

Thanks so much for the comments. It makes the build all the more worth it when you guys like it so much! how long did it take you to build it? On and off, about 3 months. Heat sinks? I've updated the post to include a shot with heatsinks attached. How did you make the c-stick digital? It's very easy...

couldn't help but notice your iphone in picture one... Well, you have a great pair of eagle eyes for spotting it BUT... It's not quite an iphone (It's made of cardboard!). ShockSlayer has made some awesome N64Ps I agree, SS' N64's are great. The SS64 (One of my favorite N64p's)appears to be v...

Kickass vid, SiFu, have you ever done any martial arts, or strictly gymnastics? Thanks man. :D I've trained a little in Kung Fu and boxing in addition to the gymnastics. But I don't have much time to train anymore, I'm too busy with work, study and making portables! Ugh. Guys, nice video. I used to...

when I did my relocation, I think I got about 1.5 inches (just of 30mm) of wire with it still working, but I suppose that was pushing it. I did this to wrap the expansion pack over to the other side of the board. Interesting. I also thought about wrapping it around the back of the board. Great to k...

The L64 is awesome, but the size in ENOURMOUS! Enourmous? You can't be serious!!?? The L64 is probably the smallest N64p after this one. Remember, as well as internal batteries, it contains all 4 controller ports, A/V out and the cart slot is fully integrated into the shell. Are some games hard to ...

Sifuf's expansion pak relocation guide
EXPANSION PAK RELOCATION Relocating the RAM is probably the ultimate dream for an N64 portabliser. It is the only real way a comfortably thin machine can be built. But it seems many of us have struggled with this task. http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/7637/exp1sq3.th.jpg First of all, I do not cl...
