Re: GC Controller Protocol, DOL-003 and DOL-004 (DOL-005)
Welcome. I haven't done a thing with it since then. It was mainly just something to kill some time and try too figure out.

Re: DIY Xbox 360 Controller with Programmable buttons project
Lord, couldn't get any competition push buttons there. ;) Most people prefer the much, much smaller 6x6x7mm Tact switches, but it's all personal preference with controllers, so as long as it works for whoever is using it, that's all that really matters. The CGn was completed, but there are only 5 of...

Re: DIY Xbox 360 Controller with Programmable buttons project
Nice to see someone else believe that crapid fire and glitch mods aren't the best way to play the game. A friend of mine and I did this quite awhile back with pretty much the entire 360 controller, but not too surprisingly, it wasn't met with the same kind of enthusiasm as the next thing that just p...

Saturn Controller Protocol MK80117 and Emulation
After tinkering around with the standard 6 button Saturn pads, MK-80116 and MK-80100. http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=72308" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I figured I'd give the 3D (Nights) Controller a look see. This is based on the reader understanding Binary, specif...

Saturn Controller Protocol MK80116-MK80100
Hey all, Most people that have seen my work know it's pretty much all done on the hardware side of things, but here over the last few years I've been trying to get into the coding side of things as well. I've been tinkering around here with the different protocols controllers use, so instead of hack...

GC Controller Protocol, DOL-003 and DOL-004 (DOL-005)
This is more or less a proof of concept in reading the Data from the controller's than a full blown breakdown of the controller's protocol. The GameCube controllers, much like their N64 predecessor, use a 1 wire type of communication. Looking at the plug on the controller, with the flat side on top....

GC Controller (Wired) PCB Scans, DOL-003
A few scans of the wired GC controller. Top of the PCB, all thru hole components removed http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f320/RDCXBG/Nintendo%20GameCube/GCWiredTop.jpg Top side with components removed and traces exposed. 50/50 composite from top side clean scan, so all traces can be seen, but also...

GC Controller (Wireless) PCB Scans, Wavebird DOL-004
A few scans of the Wavebird GC Controller PCB. Note: The Wireless module is not shown here as there are 2 versions that I'm aware of. When I have both done up I'll update this with them. Top of the board, all thru hole components removed. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f320/RDCXBG/Nintendo%20Game...

N64 Schematic NUS-CPU-03-04, NTSC (1996,1997)
This is the 04 version motherboard. The 03 is almost the same, but has a couple of slight differences. I'll get an 03 board scan posted as well when I have some free time. Re: 3PS60 Controller, Wired 360 controller in PS3 shell
I said I'd never make another one of these things up, unless it was wireless, but this one is actually a stepping stone towards that one. This one also uses the Wired 360 CL version board, same one I've used in previous 3PS60 controllers that was cut down to size, and the same one I made the miniCL ...

Re: Xbox 360 Power & MOSFET Types
If it's missing the standby Regs and you're trying to power it up, then you should honestly just bin that thing now. Troubleshooting a PCB like that with nothing to go by isn't going to end up with great results. Even with the schematic, DMM, Oscilloscope and a working one for comparison it's still ...

Re: Xbox 360 Power & MOSFET Types
0022 isn't overheating, it's some hardware error, (H)ANA, GPU or Southbridge. The FETs are surface mount, so there's no difference between the driver IC and how they're mounted. If you're getting 1.8v where there should be 5v then something is loading it down, though that's an awful odd voltage to h...

Re: Xbox 360 Power & MOSFET Types
If all of the FETs are bad then there's more of an issue there than just them. A lot of them are in parallel with others also, so if only 1 is bad it will look like more are. Also, testing them in circuit is no way to tell if they're bad or not as you'll always get an incorrect measurement from othe...
