Re: Not as bad as what happened to vomitsaw... But it sucks.
Thanks, both of ya. It's never easy to lose a pet, and I've lost my fair share. One year (Actually, just two days) I had the absolute worst luck with cats (They were technically strays, but I took care of them all, so they were my pets). 50-some cats died in about 48 hours. They were just dropping l...

Not the update I wanted to give you, but as he was part of this whole mess - as a survivor - I figured I should inform you of the passing of Dyson this morning (The fish who lived in the tank that exploded in case you need a memory refreshment). We don't know why. I'm pretty upset about it. Yeah, he...

Re: Not as bad as what happened to vomitsaw... But it sucks.
Why would it cost so much? It's just a little water! Unless you let it sit and rot or something... Like vskid said. A little goes a long way. And we didn't let it sit. The carpet was pulled and the floor ventilating within 6 hours (We actually had to get permission from the insurance company before...

All the details I could type to you are in the video. Never the less, if you have a specific question, I'll be happy to answer.
Cost keeps on going up....Nearly $20,000... You could get a very nice NEW car for that.

Re: Not as bad as what happened to vomitsaw... But it sucks.
In all honesty, I'd keep it quiet that your dad fixed the seal. Even though you made it clear that he improved its original performance, the insurance company could take it as "tampering", and refuse your claim. Thanks for the tip. Thats what we assumed as well, so they don't know. I was just shari...

Re: Weed Whacker Powered Bicycle!
There is a 13:1 gear ratio so acceleration isn't too great, but top speed is very high. Actually, the bike tire's size does nothing to change the gearing, its just an idler. If you put the bike peg directly on the ground, it would spin just as fast at a given speed (no, I wasn't smart enough to not...

Not anything to update...Weekends over, so more work later today (Seeing as it's a tad before 3AM as I write this). As I dont have anything to report, I just figured I'd say I really appreciate the well-wishes and tips. We'll survive. As always, right? Heheh. I'm a tenacious guy. Takes a lot to shoo...

Re: Not as bad as what happened to vomitsaw... But it sucks.
Couldn't you sue the company that made the tank, for having a faulty seal in it that causes problems like this? I think you could. Also: Who knew that water could cause that much damage! Jeez. D: Wasn't a faulty seal. The glass cracked. When it cracked, the some-700 pounds of water pushed out. Caus...

Re: Not as bad as what happened to vomitsaw... But it sucks.
Well, as always, it always sounds better the first time you talk to the insurance company. You know when they say "You're covered!"? Then, as time goes on you find out what exactly they are and are not covering. I guess our insurance covers everything except furniture damage caused by fish-tank-wate...

I didn't exactly cheat death. Nor will I have any reason to paint the Kool-Aid man on my house. Life is of the suckage, though. For full details: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INz_0qTVlps Cost for repairs? $15,000 and raising what seems like daily. Honestly, the last number I heard was $18,000, but...

Re: (Super) Famicom Disk Drive (Internal shot added)
1) i never said it was impossible 2) we never argued about it for any length of time, esp not 1.5 hours 3) i never lamented about having problems with the snes cart, cuz i never had any problems with it Thats not how I remember it. Based on your encoder board. How do you NOT remember this? I rememb...

Re: (Super) Famicom Disk Drive (Internal shot added)
Guess I dont really see how it was such a big deal. So file some parts cut a hole etc. It is nice work and it is cool but I dont really see it as anything super special or the freaking David sculpture or something. The same could be said about a lot of things here. However, its not the amount of wo...

Re: (Super) Famicom Disk Drive
I can provide if you so wish. I mean as hard as it was to get together, it's not like the parts are super-secret. In fact, I think I said it in my video description, didn't, I? heh.Taiben wrote:Not bad. Any internal pics?
Anyways, if you want a couple, I can get them.
