Humming is normal on a Vectrex.
There's a couple articles on fixing the buzzing at the bottom of this page:

Re: replacing the internal battery
Why wouldn't you just use two AA lithium batteries? This kind: http://www.tapeonline.com/images/products/energizer-lithium-batteries-aa-ultimate-lithium-4-pack-large-1393.jpg That way you're still giving it 3v. And two AA's would last basically forever if it originally had a coin-sized battery. Won...

Wii Pop'n Controller?
I wonder how hard it would be to make a Pop'n controller for the Wii? From what I can tell, the game uses the accelerometers in the nunchuk and wiimote controller, with (if the 5 buttons left to right were labeled are A-E) nunchuk left for A, nunchuk down for B, nunchuk right OR wiimote left for C, ...

Re: Coding
I started with Applesoft BASIC, then went on to mess with QBASIC, I used C in a microcontroller class (C seems alright to me), and I'm thinking of learning ANSI Common LISP (I hear it's supposed to be pretty good once you get the hang of it).

Re: Sony Dreamcube 642
A Rack System? WTF! It Defeats The Purpose Of It Being A Cabinet, But Good Suggestion. And Don't Get Technical I'm Only Eleven! Well, 1U just means that the box is 1.75" tall and about 19" wide. (2U would be twice as tall, and so on. 4U, like the computer I'm currently assembling for myself, is 7"....

Re: Sony Dreamcube 642
I've been thinking of making a 1U rackmount Dreamcast. A PS2 might be nice to 1U also, it already has a front-load drive, and I can just extend the Ethernet/Modem ports on the HDD adapter to punchdown jacks mounted in the back panel. Maybe you could get a rack system, then add a bunch of rackmount-i...

Re: GBA screen swap
Obviously an AGS-101 screen would be nicer (it lights up better), but either one is an improvement over the stock screen (it doesn't light up at all). Also tempted to modify it to take a GBA SP battery. (I think the batteries my Gamester Power Fix battery pack are dying on me, and this is my second ...

Re: GBA screen swap
Any idea if the screen from either an AGS-001 or an AGS-101 would work in an AGB-001? Other than having to work out how to wire up the light of course.

Re: Windows Server 2008 R2 reset admin password
Did you try to slipstream the RAID drivers with something like vLite? I can't say for certain if that would help, but it's probably worth a try. If you just want to grab your files, you might want to look for a Linux live cd (like Knoppix) that understands whatever RAID controller you're using, and ...

Re: Fixing DMG Cart (Rockman World 2)
It looks to me that at the bottom where pins are the traces have small bits that look like the traces have been cut. I'd say it looks more like they were worn through rather than cut (perhaps the front half of the cart shell was rubbing there?), but it's all the same result. You might be able to ge...

Re: 364 Worklog
I'd guess that they have something to do with those traces runing around the socket that have a black marker line running across them. Perhaps the section with those traces on it is going to be trimmed off?ihakr wrote:What are the blue wires doing on our motherboard?

Re: RE: Can the Atari paddles work with the Xbox 360
I couldn't tell you, because I'm not really familiar with what a XCM XFPS Commando is, but if that doesn't work out you might check out this controller by MadCatz . It's got a "ring" around the right analog stick that acts like the knob on a paddle controller, I'm pretty sure it maps to one axis of ...

Re: Fun to drive cars
personally i'm in the "old car = better car" camp lol. I'll probably never actually have one, but I sort of like the idea of taking a Dodge Omni, stripping out the interior, installing a 2.2L T-III engine (With fun things like a bigger turbo, chipped ECU, water/alcohol injection system, etc), bigge...

Re: Am I missing something? [DREAMCAST]
Do you have any sort of ground connections? The "DC IN 7.5V" connector needs the center part to connect to positive, and the outer part needs to connect to ground (battery negative). The A/V connector probably has some sort of ground pin that goes to a matching ground pin on the Dreamcast, too. Yes,...

Re: Question about battery volatage
Nope. Let's simplify, say each load is a resistor. Say you have two identical resistors in series. Each is the same. Each will drop the same voltage, just like parallel identical resistors drop the same amperage. If you have a 10V source, with a 50 ohm, a 30 ohm, and a 20 ohm resistor in series, th...
