Re: "Dualshoch III" and other knockoff PS3 controllers
After using the "Dualshoch III" watching Netflix, I must admit they are clearly inferior to the genuine Sony controller for that purpose. Since the controllers have a reduced battery life, they shut off after just a few minutes of inactivity. This gets annoying whenever you want to rewind the movie,...

"Dualshoch III" and other knockoff PS3 controllers
Hello all, If you've ever looked for PS3 controllers on eBay, I'm sure you've seen the knockoff controllers from various sellers (usually located in China.) Some appear to be genuine DualShock 3's at first glance, complete with Sony markings on the controller and packaging. Others are subtly differe...

Fixing a damaged connector on a PC video card
Hello all, I just bought a used AGP video card on eBay, trying to upgrade an old PC for my HTPC setup. The PC power supply is tripping when I try to turn it on with this new video card. Lo and behold, I discovered a damaged pin on the connector. A tiny piece in the middle of the pin is missing, and ...

Re: iMac G3 LCD
Original idea was to use the iMac motherboard, put Debian Linux on the hard drive, and use it for something useful. As money becomes available I can put in a modern x86 motherboard and Hackintosh it (as a replacement for Gf's mom's aging dual-G4 Mac.) I don't know about your vintage of iMac, but min...

iMac G3 LCD
I've recently come into possession of a 1998-vintage Bondi Blue iMac. The motherboard and hard drive are fine but the unit won't power on, probably due to a burned-out flyback transformer in the monitor. But I also got my hands on a 15" LCD, so I'm thinking about scooping the old CRT out and replaci...

Game Genie with top-loader NES
I recently sold off my Retro Duo because my girlfriend has a genuine top-loader NES (yes, I plan on marrying this girl!) I realize that back when the top-loader was sold, there was an adapter so the Game Genie would fit in the top-loader. If I want to use Game Genie with the top-loader now, could I ...

Re: WTB: Shell from Sony Playstation controller
Thanks for your reply, Haunted360. Unfortunately I think the cost of shipping from Australia would kill me. I ended up buying a beat-up but working PSone controller for $4. I'm offering its remaining parts to any modders on this site if they're interested.

WTB: Shell from Sony Playstation controller
Hi! I need the shell from a Sony Playstation controller for a project I'm working on. Doesn't matter if it's an original PS controller, DualShock 1/2/3 or SixAxis. (It just needs to be a genuine Sony, not a 3rd-party.) I guess I could buy a used controller from a local video game shop, but I don't w...

Re: P-NES MarkIII
This has to be one of my all-time favorite portable projects from this site! Very retro, like the portable I would have wished for back in 1989!
What did you end up using for batteries and screen? I'm guessing standard AA's and a PS1 LCD.

WTB: Case from DualShock 1/2/3 or SixAxis controller
I'm looking for the leftover case from a dead/gutted DualShock (or SixAxis) controller for a modding project. PM me if you can help.

WTB: Case from SNES-101
I was looking to buy the case from a resdesigned SNES (aka SNES-2, SNES-101, SNES Jr. or Mini SNES.) Please let me know if anybody has an extra they would be willing to sell from their portable SNES project.

Re: Change wii DVD drive with an PC DVD drive
Since CG and Wii use a slightly different DVD format, there are only a few select PC DVD drives which are even capable of reading the data off a Wii disc.
