Re: Modding a dreamcast with ethernet
No way to convert the modem to a BBA but there has been some work on creating an IDE interface with a Dreamcast and running a network card through a PCI slot. http://f17.aaa.livedoor.jp/~takotako/g2bus.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's mostly in Japanese but has some really nic...

Re: PS3 disc drive questions
It sounds like the Blu-ray controller card has went out. There is a solution: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PasrzxmTi-s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zh46cR6k3s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; You (or someone else) can do that, you can...

Re: PS2 Laser Replacement
eBay, it's a generic replacement laser from China. Just like this one: http://www.gameliquidations.com/storefrontprofiles/processfeed.aspx?sfid=47611&i=232714491&mpid=466&dfid=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Remove the anti-static solder (don't even see why it's needed if it's prope...

Re: PS2 Laser Replacement
The first laser won't read DVD's but will read CD's, these two replacement lasers won't read any type of media. I've also tried the laser from my personal PS2 Slim and it works fine. Fortunately, the motherboard isn't the problem. The real problem is that I decided to buy a cheap replacement laser. ...

PS2 Laser Replacement
I bought this PS2 the other week, it needed a new laser (CD's work, DVD's don't). Received my laser, didn't work, so I sent for a new one. This second one isn't working either but I believe it's due to the solder that is placed on these replacements for anti-static reasons. I've used my desoldering ...

Re: ps2 netbook mod???
A couple of things to consider: - The Linux disc for PS2 regularly goes for $100+ on eBay. - That disc comes with an outdated kernel and outdated packages which will need to be upgraded. - I doubt that the Linux disc would work well with any of the hard drive mods available. I'm not saying that it w...

GD-ROM Ribbon Cable Extension
Looking for a way to extend the GD-ROM ribbon cable (that goes from the controller board to the laser) or, preferably, purchase a longer cable (at least 3-4x length of the original). If anyone has a Digi-key parts number or link to a longer cable, please let me know. The current one is way too short...

Re: GARAGESALES 2008-20XX!
Today I picked up a working SCHPH-70012 PS2 with two controllers for $20. More than what I would have wanted to pay, sure, but it'll make a nice profit for me. This same store had a few other consoles but I didn't have the cash to get anything else. They also had a really nice DVD player (handheld) ...

Re: FS/T: PS2 Controllers, PC Parts, More
Updated the first post with new items. "I'm currently in need of a 90w PicoPSU, a working 10-14" LCD monitor with VGA, a Dreamcast VGA box, and an aluminum case created from drawings I'm currently working on." While I didn't list this in the first post, I'm still interested in these items. The only ...

Re: Re-arranging the buttons on a Game Boy
Well, I went with ripping the screen off the mobo. It came off fairly well and I think I have something to work with. If it doesn't work, oh well, the original case was already damaged from storage.
If it doesn't work, I'll pick up a pocket and try that out. Thanks for your help.

Re: Re-arranging the buttons on a Game Boy
I'm stuffing the Game Boy inside of a Dreamcast controller. Space isn't an issue as the controller has been gutted and everything will fit inside. The issue is that the Game Boy is too tall for the controller. While the board will fit horizontally, the idea of rotating the screen seems just as troub...
